Frequently Asked Questions

Below are a list of the most Frequently Asked Questions about Pre-School. Please feel free to contact us if there is anything you would like to know.

1- When can my child attend?

Please see times and term dates for each setting under their respective headings.  Each setting opens at slightly different times to accommodate the needs of our families.  We can arrange sessions to suit your needs, starting and ending between these times.  Please note: we fill our sessions quickly on a first come, first served basis.

2- Do you have a holiday club?
We do not offer holiday clubs at this time, however we are always seeking to extend our services when sufficient demand arises.

3- What age can my child start?
The Village Pre-School accepts children between 3 months-5 years old.

4- How much do you charge?
From 01st April 2020, our fees will be £5.88* per hour. We do not offer discounted fees. We are registered to accept Early Years Education (EYE) Grants for every child aged over 3 years old, and for eligible 2 year olds. This entitles your child to either 15 or 30 hours free childcare per week, (subject to conditions).

5- How can I pay?
The EYE Grant is payable directly to Pre-School from local Government. For all other fees we accept BACS, (our preferred method), Cash and Childcare Vouchers. Please ask at Pre-School for more information.

6-What can my child bring to eat?
You can bring in a packed lunch from home or a meal which can be re-heated in a microwave, (items may be subject to restrictions if we have a child with a life threatening allergy).

We provide healthy snacks throughout the day for all children, regardless of how long they stay.

7-Do you have a Prospectus?
We're doing our best to help protect our environment and cut down on the amount of paper we are using.  With this in mind we are trialling just using our website and social media channels to promote the exciting things we do.

8-I would like to work in childcare, can I apply for a job?
We are always looking for volunteers to help at our sessions, and the children love having visitors! Please contact the Pre-School directly if you are able to help. If you wish to come to Pre-School, you will be required to provide a Disclosures and Barring Services (DBS) Check dated within the previous 2 weeks. Any paid positions which arise will be advertised on or our Careers Page.

9- How do I apply for a space?
Please contact the setting you wish to apply for using the information on the Contact Us page.
