Mon 03 May 2021 (Bank Holiday)

Thu 06 May 2021 (Election Day)

If you can build with it, we're

        playing with it!

Come and join us for an hour

    of playing with LEGO®,

  Duplo®, wooden blocks...well you

name it, we've probably got it!

 (although LEGO® is pretty popular!)

   Our construction club runs on

    Tuesdays 3-4pm, (Term Time).

Costs £5.85 or 1 hour of your

               EYE Funding.

Parent Time

Join us for some coffee and cake as we

chat about different subjects and help you

and your child learn and grow together.

This month we will be talking about:

         Parent Time will return in
             September 2020

Early Talk

Boost

Throughout the year, we run a

programme designed by I Can, a

     charity who help children

    communicate.

It is delivered by our Early Talk Boost        trained staff who work with the children by reading stories, singing songs and doing    activities  based on the story.   The sessions         are designed to develop skills in speech,                language and communication which                      children require to learn and

             understand new words and join

                   in with conversations.

PEEP

LEGO®- Based

Therapy

     LEGO®-Based Therapy is used at

   Parrywood Pre-School, Eastleigh to

  help develop social competence through

 the development of social skills.

 Collaborative play with LEGO® provides

children with the opportunity to practice skills        such as turn-taking, listening, sharing ideas,          communication, compromise, problem solving       and shared attention.  LEGO®-based therapy           encourages children to interact with each                 other whilst they work together to build                    models.

Teeth Brushing

Potty Training

Academy

Parrywood Pre-School, Eastleigh are pleased to announce they are part of The         Potty Training Academy!  Using stories,

reward charts and characters, The Potty

Training Academy puts the fun into

        potty training!

We also have our Potty Training

              "Home-School" bag, which is

                 made up using Potty

                    Training Academy

                        Resources.

Out and about

Every now and then we like to pop out

of Pre-School and visit the local shops,

or pop to the library!  Some of our recent

trips have been to buy ingredients for

cooking and to listen to a local author read a  story in the library.  We've even been out to  post letters to ourselves!

Periodically, we will visit a near-by dairy              farm, where the children can meet the cows        and calves, and if the farmer has time,                  they can even ride the tractor!

      We've been working alongside

Solent NHS Trust and have been

 awarded the Smiles Award.

After every lunchtime, our fully trained staff     sit with the children and we clean our teeth!      Every child is provided with their own tooth     brush, (they get very excited at the start of         each half term when they find out which          colour they have!) This promotes the                  importance of looking after our teeth,

and role models good practice to the                      children to!

Gardening
Club

We are pleased to announce the

launch of our Gardening Club!  We

will be looking after our vegetable plot  as well as making things to help the wildlife in our garden!

 Our Gardening Club runs Wednesdays

   3-4pm (Term Time)

Costs £5.85 or 1 hour of your EYE               Funding

                           Tuesday

                 9.30 am - 10.30 am.

We are proud to be offering

PEEP  (Parent Early Education                      Programme). It is run by a qualified

member of staff.  The sessions are

fun and relaxed ‘child and parent’

time. During this time we sing songs, read  stories and do an activity which can be

taken home such as cooking, planting or         craft activity.  It is an ideal opportunity to          meet other parents whilst interacting                 with your child within a relaxed

                environment.

Cooking Club

Join us on a Monday 3-4pm (Term

Time)  as we learn all about the food we eat and how to make delicious treats and meals. You also get a little recipe card to keep!
